Payroll Accountant/Analyst

Position Summary: Payroll Accountant/Analyst who will be responsible for payroll related financial analysis, accounting close and reconciliation, reporting, payroll processing and other payroll-related Finance tasks. This role will work closely with the Payroll, Accounting, Treasury, and all other teams within Finance and HR departments. Essential Job functions: * Performs analytical review and reconciliation of payroll registers (wages/deductions), payments and GL imports. * Responsible for all general ledger functions related to payroll processing. * Posts payroll-related journal entries and maintains YTD payroll reports by department * Responsible for review and set up of General Ledger information for all deductions and paycodes in ADP GL module and Dynamics SL accounting system * Reviews all errors/kick outs between payroll and the General Ledger * Collaborate with cross-functional teams on all general ledger related tasks, including accounting close. * Works with treasury and AP on payroll funding, deduction payments, benefit payments, etc including coding and reconciliation of payments and invoiced credits. * Ensure controls are properly performed with the payroll process and transmission of data between modules and systems * Works with payroll, accounting, and clinical services staffing team/timekeepers to resolve issues, differences, reclasses, etc. * Researches inquiries within or made to the Finance department relating to payroll/GL * Analyzes actual versus budget variances down to the department and location * Serves as a backup to processing and reviewing payroll * Monthly FTE reporting for all entities by department and location * Facilitate physician payroll changes and review monthly payroll General Job functions: * Works with Payroll manager in balancing W2 records * Works with finance and payroll on outstanding payroll checks and other reconciling items that are bank/payroll related * Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data. * Work closely with internal teams to provide ad hoc analysis as needed as it relates to payroll. * Works on special projects as needed
Job Requirements
Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements: - * Bachelors' Degree in Accounting/Finance preferred or equivalent experience * 3 -5 years experience required * 3- 5 years recent Payroll Accounting experience with multi-entity experience preferred * Possess a working knowledge of payroll-related requirements and regulations * Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines * Demonstrated high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. * Strong working knowledge of Word and Excel including, pivot tables and v-lookups * Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally Travel: -- travel within NJ sites is minimal but may be requested
