Marketing Manager

Essential Job functions:

  • Contribute to development of strategically-aligned, annual marketing and communications plans for assigned Summit Medical Group (SMG) service lines
  • Work with the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Marketing & Communications Department colleagues, and service line representatives to develop annual strategic, insight-driven marketing plans, demonstrating a deep understanding of the service line's goals and objectives, competitive marketplace and industry trends
  • Become the primary marketing and communications department liaison, and marketing expert, for assigned service lines
  • Work closely with assigned service lines to understand business needs and provide strategic direction and marketing/communications solutions
  • Plan and manage programs to meet service lines' business objectives and respond to market opportunities. Marketing tacticsmight include broadcast, print, events, digital (web, social, SEO, SEM), public relations, content marketing, relationship marketing (direct mail/email) and collateral components
  • Manage Marketing Specialist and Marketing Coordinator
  • Monitor and report on market trends, industry news and competitor movement related to assigned service lines
  • Manage program execution with a focus on timelines and budget adherence working with internal Marketing and Communications Department team members and external vendor partners. Monitor progress through a shared project management tool
  • Develop briefing documents and project plans that include background, market/industry/competitor information, objectives, strategies, tactics, timelines, metrics and budgets. Share them with internal clients, Marketing and Communications team members and vendor partners to gain input and approval.
  • Set metrics for all programs, establish tracking mechanisms, measure and report results
  • · Set budgets, track and report on status

General Job functions:

  • Work with the Vice President of Marketing and Communications to recommend, develop and implement process enhancements to the Marketing and Communications functions to better address internal customer needs and business efficiencies
  • Prepare quarterly marketing overview reviews for presentation to department, organizational leadership and internal clients
  • Train, supervise, motivate, and help develop marketing staff and outside vendors in partnership with the Director of Public Relations, Manager Digital Media and VP of Marketing and Communications
  • Proactively and reactively identify barriers to achieving results and anticipate any issues that might impact program success or impact on the organization's brand/reputation
  • Handle highly sensitive data in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner, including ability to foster strong client and team relationships, and consensus building
  • Assist in promoting and publicizing all special events in an appropriate manner
  • Responsible for proof-reading support for projects throughout the production process
  • Build collaborative relationships with all levels of the organization to provide advice

  • Balance is maintained during climbing, bending and/or reaching

Other Job Requirements:

  • Ability to coordinate diverse projects and activities into a cohesive and strategic communications program
  • Proven track record designing and executing successful multi-media campaigns
  • Strong working knowledge of marketing communications and it various channels (print, broadcast, digital, social)
  • Demonstrated experience in exceptional customer service
  • Self-starter; displays initiative and resourcefulness in achieving goals. Also, comfortable brainstorming and sharing ideas in a team environment
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Ability to maintain high productivity while balancing competing priorities in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Confidence working with senior executives and physician leaders
  • Other job duties as required, including assisting with special events and projects as requested

Requirements

Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related field required. Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience required
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with ability to project manage multi-media communications programs
  • Healthcare experience a plus
  • At least three years of writing and editing marketing communications is required
  • Experience with planning and managing multi-media programs either on the Agency or client side (preferably in a service industry and/or fast paced environment)
  • Proficiency in MS Office, spreadsheets, PowerPoint development, project tracking programs (such as SharePoint) and database platform(s)
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality required

Travel -- Some local and national travel may be required for conferences as well as partner, strategy and planning meetings
